Durex Play Longer is a lubricant designed to treat premature ejaculation. The product uses benzocaine (an anesthetic similar to lidocaine) to desensitize the male’s genitals during sex- enabling him to last longer in bed.

Placing an anesthetic commonly used in minor surgery on your penis seems to be a bit overboard. And our testers agreed with this notion. The overwhelming majority of our test group found the product completely eliminated any feelings during sex, and in fact, a number of our subjects dropped out of the test. Not only were they dissatisfied with the product, their partners were too.

Of all the different products we tested, Durex Play Longer came in fourth place. It trailed far behind all other products in virtually every category.

Nearly every subject had the same major grievance about this treatment for premature ejaculation- it took all the pleasure out of intercourse. Sure, using an anesthetic to prevent premature ejaculation is the medically correct solution, but it ignores the basic premise of sex- that it’s something to be enjoyed by both parties. If you can’t enjoy it, what is the point of doing it?

Our tests found the product only worked 23% of the time. This is by far the worst success rate of any product we tested. Not surprisingly, this low success rate led to widespread displeasure with Durex Play Longer lubricant.

This product doesn’t really meet the needs of anyone. It is highly ineffective on the men using it, and their partners complained about the effects it had on them as well. Taking the pleasure out of sex doesn’t appeal to very many people, and the makers of Durex Play Longer would be wise to remember that.
