Most Americans need to lose weight. More and more people rely on home delivery of prepared, portion-controlled meals. This helps eliminate the temptation to binge - indeed, the dieter may not even need to keep any other food in the house.
Nutrisystem is the leading diet plan that provides pre-packaged meals as a part of the program. Jenny Craig, the diet named after the Australian nutritionist and weight-loss expert, has become increasingly popular in the United States. And the well-known Zone Diet has entered the field with its Zone Cuisine program, endorsed by Dr. Barry Sears, the creator of the Zone Diet.
Product Critic reviewed these three leading diet food delivery programs to determine which, if any, we could recommend to our readers. Our testers each agreed to follow the recommended diet strictly for 90 days and document their experiences daily. After the 90-day period each person filed a final status report. Thus we arrived at our conclusions regarding the Nutrisystem, Zone Diet and Jenny Craig diet food delivery systems. More information on weight loss

Though many people think it's a relatively new company, Nutrisystem has been in business for over 30 years. Nutrisystem brought the diet plan into the digital age, pioneering both meal delivery and online support. When a dieter joins the Nutrisystem program, there's no reason to go shopping for special foods or work meetings into a busy schedule. Nutrisystem is definitely the most low-impact of the diet plans we reviewed.
Additionally, Nutrisystem proved to be the most successful. Read our full Nutrisystem review here.
The Zone Diet's Zone Cuisine program came in second place in our review. Despite its relatively steep price point, the Zone Diet selections were found to be quite tasty and various.
Our testers did not lose as much weight while on the Zone Diet. Additionally, some testers had reliability issues with delivery. Read our full Zone Diet review here.
Of the three diet food delivery programs we tested, Jenny Craig was the least successful. We received complaints of inept customer service and undesirable food. Our testers were not satisfied with the variety or the taste of the meals. Almost thirty percent of our testers failed to complete the program due to intense cravings or frustration with the food choices.
The only saving grace of the Jenny Craig program as compared to Nutrisystem or the Zone Diet is its price point.
